After the release of iPad 3, Apple released iOS 5.1 for iPhone family, iPod Touch family, and iPad family and on the very same day it was jailbroken. Both iPhone-Dev team and iH8sn0w released the tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 named as redsn0w 0.9.10b6 and Sn0wbreeze 2.9.2 respectively. It was 4 months ago, when we first heard about the iOS 5.1 beta update that Apple released only for its registered developers. After then Apple already released three builds, to address different issues that were encountered by the iPhone 4S users and later on other devices users who installed the update. One of the major bugs of the iOS 5.1 update was battery drainage which was a real headache for the iPhone 4S customers, although it is solved in this update. Some new features of this latest update are Japanese language support for Siri, and it also makes possible the deletion of a particular picture from Photo Stream.
As the update has been jaibroken so users can unlock their iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.1, but let me tell you this is a tethered jailbreak, so you need to connect your device with the PC each time when your device wants to be booted. Therefore, I’ll recommend all our readers to wait for untethered jailbreak, but if you can’t then go ahead and unlock iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using the Ultrasn0w Fixer.
