Asus Transformer Pad 300 gets Android Jelly Bean boost

The popular Asus Transformer Pad 300 tablet has become on of the first devices outside of Google HQ to get an Android Jelly Bean refit.

The device, released in the UK in May packing Ice Cream Sandwich, was updated with the newer version of the operating system over the weekend.

Asus teased the launch by posting an image of the Jelly Bean mascot with the message: "When Mr. JellyBean is in the office, it means something good is coming. LIKE me..."

Users soon began reporting that their tablet with the name-justifying laptop dock was now munching on the chewy and sweet new OS.

Infinity and beyond?

The £399 tablet arrived with a superfast, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, integrated 12-core GeForce GPU, 32GB of internal memory and an 8MP camera.

Users will now be hoping for an Android 4.1 update to the top-of-the-line Asus Transformer Pad Infinity also. We'll keep you posted.
