For the longest time, RIM has been releasing devices that are almost similar in form factor. However, there is one unique device that really took the attention of several consumers. The design offers a mysterious look that can get anybody’s attention. This device is RIM’s latest BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9881. It was release to the public October last year and the audience became amazed with the appeal of this phone. Looking on the features aspect of the Porsche P’9881, it would easily remind us of the BlackBerry Bold 990 as both devices share several similar and familiar concepts. The Porsche P’9881 would also be running the latest BlackBerry OS 7.0.
On the specs sheet, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9881 is comparable to several average smartphones in the market today as it is powered by a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a clocked speed of 1.2 GHz and complemented with 768 MB of RAM. The device will come with an 8GB of internal storage and like most Blackberry units, it would feature a portrait QWERTY design with a 2.8-inch display screen with a resolution of 640 x 480p and a pixel density of 286 PPI.
On the media side of the device, it features a camera with a 5 megapixel sensor that is capable of recording 720p HD video and it will have a microSD slot which will allow the user to expand the memory up to 32 GB. What makes this device different from all the smartphones and mobile devices that matche its hardware specifications is that the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9881 is that it is built with tough stainless steel and glass on the front and soft black leather on the back which gives the device that classy look just like the typical Porsche.
The latest Blackberry Porsche Design P’9881 is now available for pre order at a staggering price tag of Rs. 130,000 or around $2,350. Now that is a really high-end device! Not many will have the capacity to own this device, just like the renowned Porsche. The overall design is a wonderful build with a touch of impressive strength, speed, and luxury. This another wonderful and unique device from RIM, though it not that sure if this device would be a big hit in the market due to its price and relatively average features.
